1 : 10000
Sandro Pachuashvili's paintings address the loss of connection between humans and the world they inhabit. As people move across a vast, desolate landscape, whether through faith or force of habit, they drag items that are only good for reestablishing a relationship between individuals and society. We, the viewers, are the starting point for interpreting and understanding the scale of people migrating across mountain ridges from dystopia toward better places. The artist employs scale to present the grand scheme of things, whereby each person is one among 10000 coming together to form a whole. Individual difficulties are perceived as fractions, trivial, ten-thousandth in their significance, disappearing altogether when viewed from a distance.
