Niniko Morbedadze and Saba Gorgodze at Frieze No.9 Cork Street: Part of Tbilisi Independent
CH64 Gallery is presents works on paper by Niniko Morbedadze and photographs by Saba Gorgodze at Frieze No.9 Cork Street. The show is a part of a take over of the Frieze space by five female-run galleries and two art projects from Tbilisi, Georgia.
Niniko Morbedadze’s pieces on show in London are from her most recent ‘We Love Animals’ series, comprising of seven works featuring characters in her signature style alongside animals from across the world. These lightweight works represent a return to her roots as a graphic artist, demonstrating her skills as a master draftsman.
The four works on show by Saba Gorgodze are from the 608 series. The series comprising a total of forty-two photographs was shot between 2018 and 2023 and was first exhibited at our permanent location in Tbilisi. Conceptually the artist sees the works as a chronicle of errors hidden in plain sight. The images from the series often depict consequences of human actions or accidents.
